Help the AbilityFirst team
AbilityFirst, a leading nonprofit organization providing programs and services to children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, has become the Derby Day 5K official race beneficiary.

The Derby Day 5K supporting AbilityFirst has brought hundreds of the organization's program participants and their families, friends, and supporters together to race for inspiration and raise funds through the 5K. On April 7, 2012 the AbilityFirst team will join nearly 5,000 local community members in Arcadia, continuing the AbilityFirst tradition of having their team participate side by side with non-disabled peers.

Like most, AbilityFirst participants do not run to win. The most important thing to them is to finish "their race"
with family and friends at this fun community event. Each person benefits from enjoying a healthier lifestyle, increasing confidence, and setting and meeting personal goals.

For the sixth consecutive year, AbilityFirst thanks the Forest Lawn Foundation for their challenge grant, which inspires the AbilityFirst 5K Team to go above and beyond. Funds that AbilityFirst raises, up to $350,000, will be matched by the Forest Lawn Foundation up to a maximum grant of $75,000.

Every day, participants in AbilityFirst programs run their own personal races. With your help, they will continue to strive and achieve new milestones.
