Race Description

Past, present and future Spirit Runners unite! Celebrate the 25th running of Newport's favorite family race and keep the healthy “spirit” alive for future generations. Featuring:

• NEW! COMPETITIVE YOUTH 5K (14 and Under)
  • PARENTS - Parents/Guardians of Youth in the Youth 5K race may register for the adult 5K and run in the Youth 5K but must start in the back of the pack and are not eligible for any awards. No other adults may register or run in the Youth 5K.
• 5K Adult Run, Stroller Run and Family Walk
• 10K Run (no walkers) and 7 1/4 to 1 Mile Youth Races
• Health Expo Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA

• Registration 6:00 a.m. 10K Run (no walkers) 7:00 a.m.
• ** NEW 5K YOUTH RUN - 7:45 a.m. **
• 5K Adult Run, Stroller & Family Walk - 8:15 a.m.
• 1 Mile (11-12 yrs) - 9:20 a.m.
• 1 Mile (9-10 yrs) - 9:35 a.m.
• 1 Mile (8 yrs) - 9:50 a.m.
• 1 Mile (7 yrs) - 10:05 a.m.
• 1/2 Mile (6 yrs) - 10:20 a.m.
• 1/2 Mile (5 yrs) - 10:35 a.m.
• 1/4 Mile (4 yrs) - 10:45 a.m.
• AWARD TIMES:
  • One-half hour after each mile, half, and quarter mile start

Directions and Parking

Event takes place at Edwards Big Newport 6 Cinemas, 300 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, CA 92660. From Coast Highway, take Avocado Drive to parking lots adjacent to Edwards Big Newport 6 Cinema at San Miguel. From 405 Freeway, take Jamboree exit west to MacArthur Blvd. and then south to San Miguel Drive. Please arrive 1 hour before start of event to allow adequate time for parking, registration and warm up on race day.

Live Entertainment

The Green Room will play from 7:30 to10:30. The band is comprised of middle and high school locals, together since 2004 were inspired by the movie, School of Rock. They’ve played at Rocktoberfest, the Spirit Run, the Orange County Marathon, private parties, and again at the Corona del Mar Christmas Walk and Harbor View School's Open House.

Corona Del Mar Guitar will play on the course from 7 am to 11 am with over 40 of it’s students playing - CDM Guitar
